You will learn the most effective ways to give back as a volunteer or consultant to further the movement.

This course will help you step into the mindset of a victim and see the world through their eyes, physically and emotionally. Timea will walk you through the stages of the survivor mindset beginning with the time prior to being trafficked. Once you understand the world from the perspective of a survivor, Timea will teach you how to provide appropriate step-by-step care based on the stages of healing.

The tools you will receive in the course will help you create a healthier relationship with your clients and will offer you information that you wish you knew before you started working in this field. Regardless of whether you are a caseworker at a shelter, a health care worker at the ER, or a child and family services worker, this course will help you understand the mindset of a victim and will give you the tools you need to implement care and assistance immediately. These tools will bring you effective results with clients you may not have had the chance to reach or make a connection with yet. This course will also help you fully understand the most important question that has been asked repeatedly: Why do victims most often go back to their traffickers and how can I work with them during the transition time?

Curriculum

This is NOT from a clinical perspective; this is from the survivor’s perspective. Understanding the mindset of a victim who experienced exploitation is key to providing proper and effective services that will benefit the client long term. It also makes it easier for service providers to do their job more effectively; overall it will take less of an emotional toll on the service providers because the outcome of the casework can become more positive for the client and the service provider.
